Thank you for creating this website! I’ve lost 40 lbs, but I have about 30 more to go so this website is definitely giving me the extra push I need.
Thank you so much!
@ Melissa – Thanks for stopping by the FLETC Forum, if you have any specific fitness questions or about FLETC in general feel free to ask at anytime.
Congrats on your weight loss!
Hi Good Morning Brad,
Thanks! I appreciate your help.
What advice would you recommend to someone that is starting out with the push up and pull ups training? I’ve read that performing the modified push up will not prepare you to do the “regular” push up, and that has turned out to be the case for me at least.
Thank you for your time.
Melissa,
I’m putting together a post that will fully explain a progression of the push up and ways to train to improve it.
Melissa,
This post should answer all of your questions about the ever so elusive push up. BTW: I’m not a big fan of the modified push up from the knees. It doesn’t translate well into improved performance, it merely makes you better at doing push ups from the knees, which isn’t a required movement with FLETC, to my knowledge. Drop a line if you have other questions in this area, or just to let us know how you are progressing.

I am trying to get into shape for FLETC. Where would you recommend that I work on? I can do mile 1.5 mile in about 12.30. What would be a good training program?
